The latest from Valkyrie ll: “Dilemma’s and Plots..”

Mist and Sif clutched Gil tight as if they would never let him go. It was chilling to have listened to Gil run down the plotting and sinister scheming of the enemy. The more he told them, the more it made sense, and Mist for one wasn’t too keen on the idea of Malice’s forces pulling a fast one on them. Using Loki to spy on them was one thing, but to plan his capture, the gaining of their trust only to turn around and betray them, that was quite another.
Then, there was Gil’s plan. He wanted to use Loki against Malice. He knew the fool was using him and would offer only the wrong information in his presence. Mist again was not sure of this. Not only was it dangerous, but it would also confuse the troops; many of which wanted to see the bastard hang.
“I’m glad we’re friends because you would make a hard enemy to kill.” She shook her head in the end, nuzzling in close to him as they lay in the bed.
All Gil could do was a laugh.
“What so funny?” If asked, raising her head from his chest.
“That’s what Rob and I said about you when you and the rest were readying to butcher the traitor in the courtyard.” He shuddered, remembering the mob itself.
“Well, since we can’t hang him, what do we do with him?” Mist inquired, laying back against the pillow with her wrist over her eyes to block out the light.
“He serves Malice, right?” Gil blurted out, a new thought forming in his mind.
“As far as we know,” Sif replied.
“And she’s sent him on some mission to spy on us, right?”
“Yes, but, where are you going with this?” Mist raised herself up on her elbows and narrowed her eyes at him.
“What if we make him think he’s succeeded?” Gil went on, sitting up between his two females. “Find Ashe, tell her I have a special mission for her.”
“Can we get some sleep first, please? You too, tired minds don’t think well.” Sif complained as she yawned.
The mist was more intrigued by Gil’s plan, and knowing how unpredictable he could be, she was well aware of how dangerous and devious the plan actually was. He wanted Ashe to impersonate Malice. She was sure of it.
“I guess so, it has been a long night,” Gil replied as he kissed Sif’s brow.
He too, let his eyes close, only to find Mist in his mind. ‘You’re going to have Ashe impersonate Malice, aren’t you?’
    ‘Am I that transparent?’
‘Only to me, but you’re taking a great risk, my love. If Loki sees through your plan, he will kill you; and worse.’
‘What could be worse than death?’
‘When he kills, there is no coming back. You’ll be beyond my abilities to heal, he’ll make sure of it.’
He wanted to argue with her, but she knew way more than he did when it came to the art of life. ‘You could always turn me?’
‘He knows about the Einherjar and would never risk you becoming one them. A new commander in the plague trying to suffocate him.’
‘I know, Mist, but that’s a risk that I have to take.’ Had to, being the keywords there.
‘One cannot trick, the trickster, Gil.’
‘That sounds like a challenge, my love?’ He grinned, only to feel her pinch him, hard. ‘Look, I’ve worked with professional assassins before, which is why I’ve asked for Ashe to help. She knows the layout of Ghost Mountain, and, she’s an assassin of the dark arts; they know more ways to kill than anyone imaginable.’
‘Both are good reasons, but they still do not convince me to allow this madness.’
‘How about one more?’ He inquired, sitting up in the bed carefully so as not to waken Sif, the last thing he needed was another Valkyrie reaming him out.
Mist glared at him as she too began to rise. ‘It better be good!’
‘She is female, and poison is said to be a female’s weapon of choice.’
    ‘You wish to poison him?’
‘I know of certain poisons that will make me appear dead. We’ll let Loki think he’s succeeded in murdering me…’
‘Absolutely not!’ Mist had never felt fear before, but she felt it now as she listened to Gil.
Loki was capable of anything, yet here Gil was, gambling his life away. ‘If we can convince him he’s won, he’ll take me back to her. She’ll see I’m dead and leave me in some spare room. I could then sneak out and catch them both of guard.’ He was trying hard, but she just kept shaking her head. ‘We could eliminate the two greatest threats to the realm, at the same time.’
‘No, I won’t let you do this! Sif won’t either.’ Mist rose from the bed. ‘There has to be another way.’
“There isn’t!” His voice was loud and he knew he’d wake Sif if he wasn’t quiet, he just, couldn’t keep quiet any longer.
“You are our only hope for victory. Let Loki campout in his cell for a week. He’ll change his tune.” Mist shot back, her eyes changing colors like a rainbow in the sun.
“And in that week, Malice will have laid a hundred traps and we’ll be right back where we started.” His voice rose and he could hear the startled gasp from the bed.
“I will not allow you to risk your life, on an if! Damn you, do you hear me?” Mist was growling, her hands on his shoulders as she shook him. “It’s madness!”
He couldn’t bear to look at her, he knew she was right but he had to do something, and he turned away from her; only to catch a glimpse of Sif, whose eyes blazed like blue coals.
“I forbid you to do anything of the sort, and if you try, I’ll put you in a cell next to Loki, until you both come to your senses.” Those glowing blue eyes narrowed at him. “We didn’t bring you here to die, so you can give us that week.”
Gil looked at both of them, their eyes bearing down on him in a commanding and eerie way. He knew they couldn’t wait a week, but he didn’t seem to have much of a choice. A week in a cell would have given him ample time to muscle some info out of the bastard, but then he’d miss the touch of his females and he really didn’t like to see them like this. Fear did not become them.
“Ok, a week.” He agreed rather quickly. “And no sneaking around either.”
His females nodded as they began to calm down, those glowing eyes carrying no more than a few sparks. He could deal with their anger, but the fear we too much. It would take time for him to plan his little operation anyway. The poisons would need to be researched and obtained, the traitor needed a good interrogating and an escape plan would have to be laid out if he had any hope in convincing his Valkyries to follow him. He couldn’t do this without them, and clearly, he needed to approach this in a different manner or keep it a secret altogether.
“Come back to bed, let us rest before morning meal is served.” Sif yawned, her hand held out for him to take.
“Alright!” He smiled at her, letting Mist guide him back to her, though sleep was far from his mind.

From Valkyrie Darkness Awaits the Novel… 😛

In Niflheim, in the roots of Geisterberg, Malice sat on a throne of skulls. The dark one had promised victory over the Aesir. For five thousand years she had fought for darkness, clawed and murdered her way to this very throne. Now on the brink of her triumph, this worm, this mortal imbecile, threatened everything she had worked for. She had listened to her masters, done all they had asked, why would they allow such an insult to happen?
Where did he come from? How did he manage to counter her magic cleanse the Elven child? Her thoughts were ringing with so many questions. She didn’t like random events and the mortal was either going to do her bidding or he was going to die.
“And that is why he chose you, my love!” Another voice caught her attention and the warmth flooded her veins as the female approached, though remained hidden in shadows.
“Then why have they forsaken me? Why do they let such things happen?” Malice growled, but her tone no longer reeked of anger. “Why do they make it so hard, for us?”
“Our master does what he must, to ensure the plan of the Gods is fulfilled. We can only trust in him…” Her voice began to change and the voices of thousands took its place. “Believe us, Malice, when we tell you that all will be as it should.”
With those words, Malice felt the lips of her lover against her own, drawn into that loving embrace that had captured her heart five thousand years ago. Long, chocolate brown hair that fell in waves about her shoulders and a body so seductive, one look and Malice would crumble. One touch…
“Come, there is much to do before we ride for Shadowkeep. Our Master awaits our return.” That voice crept under Malice’s skin and made her knees weak.
How could she deny a call like that?
Following along behind the female, their hands clasped as they passed torch after torch, she was fascinated at how the shadows seemed to bend for her lover. There was never a moment her face was shown unless she wanted it so. Such power to have, to control darkness itself. Malice wanted this control. She wanted to command the armies of the dark if only to show her lover that she was worthy of her love.
“You must love us both, my sweet! That is the way of things.” The female stopped and an aqua-colored glow emanated from within her shadow. “He too is a part of me, and therefore a part of you…”
“He is a traitor and should be hung for treason for what he did to us!” Malice let out with a thousand voices of her own, unable to control the Host inside her.
She was always there. Always loathing the role she’d been forced to play. Malice knew this and had made it her goal to please the beast inside her, but at times it seemed impossible. Malice was bound to her Host, for as long as she drew breath; a gift from her Masters she’d been told.
Malice had accepted her new position, but after five thousand years, It seemed Marwolaeth still had one big ass chip on her shoulder.
“Easy now, our love. We would not want to bring his wrath upon us at a time like this. We are so close, my love…” Her lips fell upon Malice’s once more, her kiss not only satiating Malice herself but also the Host who dwell within her.
“We do this, for you, To’llan. No one else!” Malice’s voice took hold and the sensations that followed saw them both to the nearest wall as hands began to roam freely. “We do this, for us…” She hissed in her lover’s ear…

    From the Author

When I started writing this book I wasn’t aware of all of the emotions that it would bring out.

It came from multiple sources my individual experience in the military. My father’s and other stories and from the very beginning the book it took on a life on its own.

I wrote the book sitting in my easy chair on a tablet. ( My handwriting is atrocious, I got a D – in penmanship.) So night after night for two and a half months I worked on this book that changed my life. It proved to myself that I can do this.

Last but not least I’d like to thank everyone who beta-read the pieces as I put them together. Dee Rice, Brianna Kincaid, Taylor Morgan, Nadine Haggerty.

Finally, let me dedicate this book to the men and women of the US Armed Forces and those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. To you Dad, Love you much, miss you lots, bye.

    ೋღ🧡About the Author

Born in 1958 I was raised in a military family and spent time in the service myself. When I was growing up I saw what PTSD does to people. That’s why I chose Gil, who rises above his own suffering to find love and redemption. Does he win, read on and find out.

Malice had loved and lost, but the world had not ended. There was so much more to do, so much anger to release. But when a messenger arrives with word of love returned, after all this time; and carrying a warning that will send ripples across the expanse of space and time, Malice must find the one who holds the key to unlocking the secrets of the enemy, and free Marena from her sweet slumber.

Marena had been captured by the enemy, torn from Malice’s grip as her heart broke. She had been everything to Malice, and was still to this day, though Malice had found herself wrapped in the arms of another. But still, Malice could not resist the urge to answer Marena’s call, delivered by the lips of a Demon. Her love had been lost, and though found, remained trapped in the prison of her own mind; a mind, the enemy had warped and twisted…

Kember had been called many things, but she was, by birthright, of royal blood. A Witch, like her mother, she had ties to the outer worlds, that not even her closest friends had knowledge of. She knew things, new people, and when word of Marena crossed her path, she knew there was one person, who could help her.

Banished from the Order, for breaking their most sacred law and saving the life of another, she remembers nothing; but the visions that plague her. Not even her own, she is forced to witness the lives of others spread out across time, though never catching a glimpse of her own.
Written on pages, and collected within a leather bound cover, were the words of days past, and those yet to come. Engraved with swirls and laced with thin strips of copper cord, the book, and the visions recorded inside, was but a journal; and Navina was the key.

Lync had no family. No parents, no nothing. Cast out into the world, each memory forged on his own, he knows nothing of where he came from; just another orphaned soul, lost in the Verse that was. He knows his female is something special, though. He knows that she harbors a dark secret, but his love for her is stronger than ever, and he would die before letting his Navina suffer. ‘Write it all down, my love. Let the visions come, record them, and let them be free of your thoughts!’

Together, with the help of smooth talking Demon, and the daughter of the Lord of Darkness, himself, they will find the answers they are looking for; even if it takes them beyond the rift. The stories contained within that leather bound book would guide them to places they could never imagine, and unlock the mysteries surrounding Marena, and the enemy from the other side.

Get into those comfy pants, gather what you’ll need for the next day or so, and sit back… because this book is going to suck you in and not let go. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and your heart will feel like it ran a marathon as you read each chapter of…..Legends.

Navina had learned much in such a short time, and yet there was still more than she needed to know. So many questions that just had to have answers; but she had help now. A Demon and his mate. A Witch, she had come to call friend, and a Valkyrie, whose own quest had brought them all together.
Malice had spent months searching for Marena, only to find her locked in an endless slumber; and in the care of an old friend. Her heart ached for the love she had lost, her soul crying out, over the injustice of it all. Marena had been but a pawn in the enemy’s grasp, but to Malice, she had been so much more; unlocking the wonders and releasing the darkness the Valkyrie had harbored within.
Now that very same enemy is threatening the whole Verse, and Malice will stop at nothing to unlock the secrets in Navina’s mind; with the help of some new, and old friends. Together they will endure, whatever the Eno’tai send forth in the next wave, and they will find the answers they seek; for if they don’t stand up and fight, then who will?

    °❈*💥Blurb:
There was always more to a story than met the eye. There were always more secrets, more lies, a never-ending search for answers that may very well have died with the Ancients; but they had to try.
Many had fallen in what was being called the greatest war of all times. Hundreds of planets had been ravaged beyond repair, mighty cities and vast civilizations returned to dust, their lands unable to support life. Millions had lost their lives, and many more were left devastated when their homes had been destroyed and their families, shattered beyond repair. This was what the Verse had come to, and despite their many victories, Malice knew there was much more to come. The war was far from over, and those who were missing had yet to find their way home.
She’d already lost her past to the Eno’tai, she’d lost her friends and those she’d loved, and there was no way she was going to hand them her future too. She would find what she’d lost, and she’d bring them all home or die trying, for they couldn’t win this war alone.

Well, it been a while since I’ve shared anything with you guys. I’ve been working on the first meeting of Malice and Jack way back in the First World War from Valkyrie III.

    “Walkure”

“What are you gonna do if this hair-brained scheme doesn’t work?”
Running like hell certainly comes to mind. His grandson replied.
“That won’t work not with her son.” The elder replied as he sighed. “If you do that you’re finished she would run you down before you had gone ten yards.”
Gil looked at his Grandfather it was like looking at himself at times.
“You know something about Malice if you know something useful spill it.”
“Not anything useful but if you want to put her off her game, send me.”
The younger Swanson looked at his elder like the other had lost his mind.
    “Why Jack?”
Instead of Jack answering Ashlyn did.
“Because he’s Malices Einherjar, the only one that I know of anyway. He’s bonded to her.”
The newest of the Valkyries had to sit after that. His wives sat beside him as Jack began speaking.
“It all began in the trenches of the western front in a place called Belleau Wood.”
    June 4, 1918
Jack Swanson cursed under his breath for at least the fifth time as the Captain asked one of the prisoners for information on the Germans positions. From what he had seen with his own eyes the assault when it came would cost his boys their lives.
They had been questioning these privates for hours whos only mistake had been they had gotten caught.
As they had been focused on the prisoners night had fallen and fog covered the battlefield like a veil, drawing a shroud over no man’s land. One if the prisoners looking out of over the field suddenly paled as he cried one word before falling to the bottom of the trench.
    “Walkure!”
Jack chambered a round in his Springfield as he looked out into No Mans Land. His Captain looked at him worriedly.
    “What is it Gunny?”
“Valkyrie..” Jack answered as he sighted down the barrel looking for movement. Sure enough, moving amongst the dead was a tall blonde woman dressed in a dark colored uniform or armor. Occasionally shed bend over touching a body then there was an eerie pulse of blue light before she moved on.
The Prisoner on the ground whispered to the older soldier fiercely.
“Get down you fool, if you meet her gaze you will die.”
“Get off you daft bugger.” Jack cursed as he kicked the man. Distracted for a moment when he looked back up the woman was gone. The old soldier ran his hand through his hair as the officer got more Marines to take the prisoners away as the Captain questioned him.
“What do you know about this Gunny?”
“I tell you what I know Captain, this is not the first time I have seen one. Shes have been walking battlefields for millennia. She and I are old friends.”
“There is actually part of Norse myth but the Huns fear them like no one’s business.”
“Aren’t you a little old for ghost stories Gunny?”
“Not if they keep me alive Sir.”
“Hold the position here then. I’m going to check on the men.”
Jack saluted as the officer moved off he returned to look out over the battlefield again. He was certain he’d seen her. He waited looked out there for hours occasionally sighting down the barrel looking for movement.l
With the glow of the full moon which had risen over the fog gave the battlefield an extra chilling quality. Sneaking through no man’s land on a night like this was a death sentence. Any noise was magnified, a cough a sneeze anything would draw the Germans fire.
As the Marine watched a cloud passed in front of cloud bathing the battlefield in darkness, then another bank of fog reduced visibility to zero.
As if by magic both parted and standing directly in front of the astounded Jack about a hundred and fifty feet away there she was. A tall silver blonde woman who had to be the vision of ethereal beauty walking amongst the corpses in a crouch.
Off to her left and behind her Jack suddenly saw a flash.
“Incoming!” Someone down the trench yelled as the shell screamed in.
Jack instead of taking cover was out of the trench running toward the woman who seemed unconcerned there was artillery raining down around her. The first shell burst behind him blowing him off his feet face down in the dirt. When he looked up he saw silver-blue eyes staring back at him just before he heard another shell coming in. He grabbed her and then rolled them over to cover her with his body as the shell exploded short. He took one look around before getting them back on their feet as Jack lead her in a mad dash back to the Marines trench.
Jack leaped in a newly created shell crater with his prisoner in tow. She didn’t look frightened in the least, she looked amused.
The Marine pulled his sidearm cocking the hammer of the Colt 1911.
“Who the fuck are you, what the fuck are you?”
The blonde young woman smiled reached up slowly pushing the gun out of her face. As soon as her hand touched his a link was established as he heard a soft whisper of feminine laughter before he heard her speak in his mind.
(My, my, aren’t we fierce. I love them firey.)She almost mentally purred. Between those eyes and that voice in his head, it was hard to concentrate. The woman circled him as if inspecting him.
(You know who I am Jack Swanson. Your mother and your foremothers worshipped me. I am one of the choosers, the Dewiswr y Rhyfelwyr. Morrigan is what they named me in the days of your foremothers but you can call me Mal.)
“Oh shit.” Jack breathed he had just tackled a goddess. She was taking it in stride like it happened every day. The woman seemed completely non-plussed that she was covered in dirt.
I guess when you walk battlefields a little dirt isn’t bad. Jack thought which brought a smile from Mal.
“Are you here for me?” Jack asked which brought a curious look fondness. It was like his mother was standing there.
(No Jack Swanson, I do not award valor with death. You acted out of selflessness. I’m here for them.)
When he heard the last part he swallowed hard. A wave of something that could only be called menace washed over him. She was here for the Germans they had done something serious for her to be here.
Her last sentence left him no doubt why she was here.
    (They have spilled innocent blood.)
Mal was used to warfare, it was her stock and trade for millennia. She chose those who fought with honor. There was a fine line between combat and slaughter, wanton murder. Then so his mother had told him their other aspect was brought to the fore, that of Avenging Angel.
They were spirits of Karma, fate both good and bad.
Jack swallowed hard he didn’t want to be the Germans for anything in the world at that moment. Then she changed back to her calmer self.
(We have a bond, Jack Swanson. You risked your life to save mine, therefore, I owe you a favor. From the looks of this place Jack I may have already done one for you.)

    From Legends V! 😛

Malice looked at the hosts they were as annoying as Folix. She knew where El got the skills with the cryptic answers.

“Ok Mia, now ladies and gentlemen the moment of truth.” Malice said as she turned toward the golden doors.

The Queen of the Valkyrie kissed the back of her hand thanking her luck then pressed her hand to the doors.

(Welcome Malice) A female voice said in her mind.

There was a sharp click as a lock opened then Mal and the rest watched in awe as a split in the doors appeared in the middle slowly swinging inward to reveal scrolls of every kind everywhere.

“Oh, my goddess Mal look at it. You did it!” Ashlyn said as she embraces her daughters as the family stepped inside looking about them in wonder.

El and Ashlyn hugged each other as Malice embrace her mothers then she realized something. There was no sign of Janice or Rammal contrary to every story that she knew.

“Morgan where are our mothers? Every story and Legend said they were here.”

Morgan looked thoughtful before he answered.

“You could always ask the Archivist. That’s the AI that opened the doors. The main controls should be that circular console in the center of the room.”

Before Mal could move she heard Jack and Gil who was standing turning in a circle beside Mist who just stood there smiling.

“Holy Mary mother of god Mal. I remember the stories you told me just dim next to the reality this is incredible!” Jack exclaimed.

Gil turned to Malice before he spoke.

    “What is all this?”

“The gathered knowledge of the Valkyrie going back to the Great light.” Malice answered as she approached the main console.

As soon she entered a misty image formed a tall silver-haired woman who stood there smiled at Malice.

“Greetings my Queen I’m Sigrun. Keeper of the Archive. It’s so good to see you again.”

    Gil turned at the name.

    “Sigrun the Winterwolf, oh shit.”

One of my favorite moments from Legends II: Chronicles

    “Pet”

Who knew, that a pipsqueak such as…
You know what? Malice had no idea who the shit rat was, but he had sure been chatting up a storm in that tavern, and when they’d all but kicked the bugger out, she had been right there waiting for him.
Dressed in her Sunday best, which included a set of nice brown leathers and a whole lot of shiny armor, she had marched the asshole all the way back to the Null, and let him cower at the base of the throne. Red carpets trimmed in black, bookcases and loungers to fill a stadium, and in the center of it all, a mass of stone steps that led up to that throne; Malice’s most favorite piece in the whole prison. Upon it, sat the big guy himself, howling as he listened to her tale of how the wretched little male before him had spun his woe filled lies, and sang of the enemy so sweet.
Lord Eroch had to take a moment before the bellowing laughter emerged from his gut once more. The male before him, a whole five foot nothing, and weighing in at, let’s say, half a drowned rat, had just asked that he restrain his pet; and he was wondering whether he should say something, or just step out of the way.
“What was that?” His voice boomed.
“I said, muzzle your hound!” He shouted at the Lord Darkness, who was well over six feet tall and weighed a good three hundred pounds of well-worked muscle. Throw in the waist length, prison striped hair and the wicked, amethyst colored eyes; the male was said to deliver nightmares wherever he went.
“She…” Lord Eroch pointed at her, “…is not, my pet! A pet is something who brings nothing but joy to your life. A pet is loyal and obedient… It is not something, that you spend your days worrying whether or not she is going to break a window, or perhaps blow up a planet; all because she broke a bloody nail!” He was glaring at the Valkyrie, who in fact, was sharpening said nails as he shook his head. “No, my short ass friend, Malice, is no pet, but you are welcome to play with her, none the less! Maybe, take her for a walk? I hear pets like that sort of thing!” He chuckled again, and turned towards the door, letting the Valkyrie take his place on the throne. “Try, not to break anything!” He glared up at her, and then looked back at the short, and rather nauseating male. “I’d say have fun, but that one bites! So, good luck on that walk!” He grinned.
“My Lord, your compliments know, no bounds.” Malice smiled back at him, and Lord Eroch shook his head as he left his throne room.
“So, I hear you want to play?” She grinned down at the male, who stood to shake in his boots. “I know a game, it’s called hide and seeks. You hide, and I will hunt you down!”
“Please, my lady? I meant no disrespect.” The male shuddered before her.
“You better start hiding!” She let out with a glimmer in her eye. “The Null is such a big place, that even I have not explored all of its secrets; but I would stay away from the lower levels if I were you.”
The male shuddered again as she held up her hand, and pointed for him to run. He looked left, and then right, and then bolted towards the far staircase, taking the steps two at a time.
“Whoa now!” Malice heard the Demon’s voice and then watched him appear at the base of the stairs.
Long black hair, a reddish tinge to that immaculately sculpted body, and the size of him; even Malice shuddered. It wasn’t every day, that a male could get under her skin such as Nyx did, and he wasn’t even hers; but Mia had no problem sharing, and neither did Reh.
    Oh, how she missed him…
“What’s got him all wound up?” The Demon inquired, dragging her back to reality as he made his way towards the throne. “Wait, would you get out of that damn chair? Who do you think you are, the Queen of Darkness? Get down here.” He shook his head at her and held out an old sheet of parchment.
“Oh, for crying out loud! Don’t ruin my moment, just because you don’t have the balls to sit your ass up here, doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy the view.” She snickered at him and then waved her hand. “Now, bow before your Queen.”
“The only thing royal about you is the pain in my ass you leave behind. Like a foul taste in my mouth; I just can’t seem to get rid of it.” He growled back at her. “Now come on, we have work to do!”
“Uh, nope! Sorry there, my friend. But today is my day off!” She laughed, stretching herself out in Lord Eroch’s throne. She loved to tease him, loved, to taunt him.
“We don’t get days off!” The Demon grumbled. “Now stop screwing around, and take a look at this.” He shook his head and offered her the small scroll.
“But I don’t want to!” She let out with a whine, tossing her head back as the Angel entered the room.
Now wasn’t he a ball of good looking! Tall, muscular, long white hair and diamond colored eyes, and the wings… Not as nice as the ones that Malice had, but they were pretty snazzy; not that she’d ever tell him that. The Angel came with a big ass helping of sarcasm, the last thing you wanted to do, tweaked his Ego Switch. Even a notch and shit got crazy, real fast.
“It’s from Kember!” Nyx grinned at her and watched as the Valkyrie shot down from the throne and appeared right in front of him. “I knew it!” He added as she snatched it out of his hand.
“Knew what?” Nissa inquired, replacing a book on one of the shelves.
“Malice has a thing for Kember!” Nyx howled, as he received a shot to the chest. “Yup totally has a thing! Guess that night in the bathhouse, wasn’t a rumor at all!”
Nissa just shook his head. “What’s the scroll say?”
Malice laughed, and then looked up at him. “Nissa, would you be a dear, and keep our guest, busy for a few minutes? I have to need to deliver a message!”
“Our guest?” The Angel looked confused. “What guest?”
“He should be on the third floor about now, probably hiding in a closet somewhere! Just, keep him busy…” She paused, tucking the parchment into her pocket. “I’ll be gone for a while!” She grinned and disappeared before either of them could say anything.
    “What guest?” Nissa asked again.
“I’ll get him!” Nyx’s grin was so wide, and the markings on his neck and chest were glowing that eerie amber color.
“She said to keep him busy now, not kill him!” The Angel chuckled, and then disappeared himself.
Nyx was alone in the throne room, and by the time that fact had registered in his mind, he realized he was staring at the throne. He had balls, the Valkyrie knew nothing, and he started up the steps. One at a time, up he went, each step bringing him closer, each foot upon the threshold, tightening the noose he felt around his neck. The giant backrest, hand carved with the most intricate ancient lettering, the seat cushion in that deep, blood red color; the stone armrests almost within reach…
“Nyx?” His voice bellowed throughout the room, and the Demon found himself at the base of the steps in a heartbeat.
“Yes, my lord?” He let out, his head bowed and his heart racing as the laughter exploded from the shadows.
“Oh, Gods! That was fucking priceless!” She howled and emerged before him. “Oh, by all that is sacred, if I should die tomorrow, I would die so happy and free!”
Even Lord Eroch was laughing, and Nissa too, as they came to stand before him. She had set him up, and they were all in on it.
“The look on your face, was so worth it, my brother!” Nissa added, slapping him on the back as he appeared beside him.
“Fuck, you!” Nyx replied, glaring at the Valkyrie, and she could see the wheels in his mind turning as he plotted his revenge.
“So, you like to play games?” He inquired, as cool and calm as he could with that sinful grin upon his face; and for a moment, Malice felt her heart flutter.
It was no lie, that despite the fact that they were both mated to others, they had felt a connection of sorts; and surprisingly enough, the Demon’s mate, Euphamia, had felt it too. A sudden jolt, a hidden sizzle between the trio? Whatever it was, it kept them all on their toes and constantly testing one another.
“What, did you have in mind?” Malice replied with a question of her own, intrigued by what the Demon had to offer.
“Shit! I’m out!” Lord Eroch sighed and shook his head, and disappeared back down the stairs as if he knew, what was about to happen.
“Your little shit rat?” Nyx went on, his lips curling up at the side as he came towards her.
“Yeah?” Malice cocked a brow at him.
“New rules. Whoever finds him first will get to sit in that throne…” He chuckled, “…and the loser, better brush up on the word ‘slave'” He added with a grin, and then disappeared from sight.
“Son of a…” Malice let out and looked up at Nissa.
“You’d better get going! You may not know all The Null’s hiding spots, but he does!” The Angel laughed.
